Bone Broth Now in Our Farm Store!

Have you ever awakened in the morning, groggy and bleary eyed, tripped into the kitchen and reached for the coffee pot, desperately needing that life-giving liquid that transforms you from zombie-mom to a mostly-functioning human being…

And then you’re struck with the most terrifying realization that you forgot to get more coffee beans.

That’s it then, the day is ruined.

That just now happened to me – except it wasn’t coffee.

It was something even more vital to my normal everyday functioning.

I ran out of bone broth.

I know, GASP!!

Broth is Medicine

bone broth

Yay! Our little store is growing!

Foods like bone broth are my family’s medicine, how could I have forgotten to make more? How could I have let this happen?!

Luckily, I’ve got a backup plan.

My amazing friend Tressa Yellig and her sister, Katie, recently opened the Broth Bar in Portland (Yes!! You can order a mug of bone broth in between shopping in the city!!), and we’re now carrying their homemade broth by the quart in our Farm Store!

So if you’re one of those gals through our store who are squeamish handling animal bones to make your own, or you’re way too busy to grab a chicken or beef bones and throw into a pot of boiling water – then we are here to rescue you!!

Salt, Fire and Time to the rescue!

We’ve got Salt Fire and Time’s bone broth frozen in quart size containers ready for pickup – just thaw, warm up a mug and start sipping!  Both chicken and beef.

We still have lots of beef bones and lovely pastured chickens + feet for you to tackle on your own, but for the days you don’t have time, our pre-made quarts are perfect.

Our farm started out 7 years ago as 1 cow and 20 customers.  It’s been so fulfilling growing it over the years to a full-fledged retail store full of meat, milk, eggs and now broth!!  And 100’s of conscientious eaters who stop in each week!!

We choose new products for the store with the same care that we raise our own.  We love doing business with people just like Tressa & Katie – people who believe what we do about food as medicine, humane treatment of animals and people, + they’re so much fun to be around!!

Why bone broth???

3 Reasons to Eat Bone Broth Daily

Bone Health

Broth is full of amazing vitamins and minerals like calcium and magnesium that are necessary for building strong, healthy bones. But remember – the animals for the broth must be raised on lush green pasture and fed high quality feed, preferably without corn, soy or GMOs.

Reduce Joint Pain and Inflammation

You could spend hundreds on amino acid supplements that claim they’ll cure your joint pain and reduce inflammation, but the best way to fully heal is to eat a diet naturally rich in nutrients. Bone broth is packed with glycine, arginine, and proline, in addition to glucosamine and chondroitin sulphates. This means you’ll sleep better, reduce body-wide inflammation, and heal your aching joints.

Seal a Leaky Gut

Perhaps one of the most important benefits of bone broth and the reason we can all benefit from a cup a day – well-made broth is full of gelatin that heals our gut and promotes proper digestion, reducing inflammation and healing illness.

Bone broth is not just a trend.  It’s proven time and again to heal and rebuild your body and mind.  Forward this to your friends who would appreciate some healing broth to start feeling better!

Here’s to your sealed gut and strong bones!!

Is it all right to add carrots, onion, celery, bay leaf etc and make more of a soup with the broth?
